How can the digital twin fulfill industrial requirements such as real-time?
Challenge and Motivation
The digital twin as the digital representation of the shop floor is a critical component of modern production.
Real-time capability of the digital twin is in high need for a unified digital architecture as many devices on the shop floor are real-time capable.
Objective
Description the state-of-the-art of implementation possibilities for digital twins
Investigation of real-time needs and implementation strategies
Procedure
Classification of implementation possibilities for digital twins (AAS, OPC UA, …)
Evaluate the state of standardization and implementation in the context of industrial requirements
Investigate different implementation frameworks
Identify further steps to realize a real-time capable digital twin
