Visit of the Japanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf

On April 28, 2026, an information event will take place at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen in cooperation with the Japanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf (JIHK). The event will focus on exchanging insights on the use of digital technologies to drive innovation and optimization directly within manufacturing processes.

The program includes expert presentations on connected, adaptive production (ICNAP) as well as demonstrations of current research projects in the production hall. The main topics include:

• 5G technology in industrial environments
• Advanced manufacturing technologies, for example for turbomachinery
• Innovative methods of quality inspection
• Forward-looking topics such as sensor technology, digital twins, and cybersecurity in production

The event provides a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation. It will conclude with a networking session during a joint lunch, offering participants and experts the opportunity for in-depth professional exchange. The entire event will be conducted in English.
